We meticulously test all surface properties in our laboratories. Various standardised procedures help us to meet the required leather quality in terms of abrasion resistance, colour fastness and sensitivity to dirt, for example. The knowledge gained from these tests helps us to guarantee the best quality at all times.
The mechanical properties contribute significantly to the experience of a product. For this reason, we subject our products to numerous tests that assess the stretchability or tear resistance of a material, for example. Softness, bending stiffness and tensile forces are also precisely recorded and compared with the target specifications.
During the tanning process and the subsequent steps, some of the added substances form a bond in the leather, which is analysed in detail in our laboratories. In addition to chromium analyses to ensure the safety of our chrome-tanned products, the focus is primarily on emission, fogging and odour tests.
